Growing up in Australia’s capital of Canberra has its perks. Great coffee, fantastic food and the best kept roads in the country. But bohemian inspiration? Not a colourful and vibrant thing to be seen as far as the eye can see.
I was always that one kid school that would be jet setting to Bali every holidays and come back extremely tanned, hair braided and wearing every shell necklace I could get my hands on. I moved to Queensland in 2007 after getting married and immediately loved the oceanside vibes. Many weekend trips to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast grew my attraction to the Boho lifestyle. In 2012, I moved back to Canberra and immediately lost that ‘hippie chick’ aesthetic and became a blue collar girl once again.
In 2017 on a summer trip to Byron Bay, my eyes came across the most amazing red bohemian maxi dress I’d ever seen. I ended up buying my very first Jaase dress. I now own more than I can count. With countless women stopping me in the Canberra streets to ask “Where did you get that amazing dress?” a thought dawned on me, why am I not sourcing my own bohemian clothing and selling it to the masses of Canberra? And VOILA! Anchor & Willow was born. I hope you fall in love with these designs as much as I do when I pick them for you. Happy shopping my lovelies. Be Inspired. Be Bohemian!
